Job Description

Research Position in Cardiac Proteomics

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen. The successful candidate will be part of the Cardiac Proteomics Group led by Professor Lundby and will be working on a project focused on investigating protein regulations involved in the pathogenesis of cardiometabolic syndrome.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate remodeling in hearts from animal models, patient samples, and cell systems using quantitative proteomics-based approaches.
  • Identify molecular changes driving the disease state and develop strategies to extract novel findings of importance to cardiac pathophysiology.
  • Collaborate with a team of scientists across multiple scientific fields focused on improving our molecular understanding of cardiac pathophysiology.
  • Contribute to the development of expertise in cutting-edge quantitative mass spectrometry-based proteomics, data analysis of large datasets, and integration of multi-omics datasets.

Requirements:

  • PhD with experience from a relevant field, including but not limited to Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or Biomedical Sciences.
  • Expert knowledge in one or more of the following areas: experimental know-how of mass spectrometry-based proteomics (LC-MS/MS), analytical know-how of mass spectrometry data analysis, and experience in quantitative proteomics approaches.
  • Good communication skills in English, both oral and written, and willingness to engage in teamwork.

Working Conditions:

The position provides a unique opportunity to develop expertise in cutting-edge quantitative mass spectrometry-based proteomics, data analysis of large datasets, and integration of multi-omics datasets. The successful candidate will be working in a team of scientists across multiple scientific fields focused on improving our molecular understanding of cardiac pathophysiology. Our facilities include state-of-the-art laboratories and core facilities as well as modern office spaces.

Salary and Benefits:

The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week. The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 2 years. The salary, pension, and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant organisation. Currently, the monthly salary starts at 38,500 DKK/approx. 5,100 EUR (April 2024 level). Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated.
