Location: Copenhagen (Frequent travel across Denmark, Norway, and Sweden)

Reporting to: Retail Director

Experience Required: 3-5 years in a similar leadership role

Our client, a prestigious luxury fashion brand, is looking for an experienced Retail Area Manager to drive the success and seamless operations of their stores across Scandinavia.

Overview:

As the Retail Area Manager – Scandinavia, you will play a key leadership role in driving performance, optimizing operations, and enhancing customer experiences across 14 stores in the region. You will act as the bridge between the retail teams and senior management, ensuring seamless communication and execution of retail strategies.

This role requires a hands-on, strategic leader with a deep understanding of luxury retail operations, sales performance, and team development. Your ability to inspire and lead teams while maintaining operational excellence will be crucial in achieving long-term business success.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Leadership and Performance Management

  • Take ownership of P&L, sales growth, and KPI performance across all stores.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales, maximize profitability, and enhance store efficiency.
  • Ensure retail operations are aligned with business goals and continuously identify areas for improvement and optimization.

Customer Experience

  • Uphold and enhance exceptional customer service standards across all locations.
  • Foster a customer-centric culture, ensuring every interaction aligns with brand values and expectations.
  • Leverage client insights and market trends to refine customer engagement strategies and enhance shopping experiences.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure consistent operational execution across stores, maintaining high standards in visual merchandising (VM), inventory management, and compliance.
  • Drive efficiency by implementing best practices, optimizing stock control, and streamlining back-of-house operations.
  • Maintain close collaboration with cross-functional teams to support retail growth and business expansion initiatives.

Talent Management and Development

  • Recruit, train, and develop high-performing Store Managers and retail teams.
  • Implement structured training programs to enhance product knowledge, service delivery, and operational excellence.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, motivation, and continuous development to ensure strong team engagement and retention.

Collaboration and Reporting

  • Work closely with regional leadership and HR, ensuring alignment on strategy and performance objectives.
  • Provide regular performance insights, market analysis, and reports, supporting decision-making at senior levels.
  • Contribute to strategic retail projects and initiatives that drive operational and commercial success.

  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire multi-location teams.
  • Deep understanding of luxury retail, customer experience, and sales strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and adaptability to fast-paced environments.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience: 3-5 years in an Area Manager or similar leadership role, preferably in luxury, full-price retail, or department stores.
  • Retail Operations Expertise: Proven ability to manage profitability, P&L, and KPIs in a multi-store environment.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Danish is highly advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in retail systems, reporting tools, and sales analytics.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel frequently within Scandinavia.
