There is now a unique opportunity to join Maersk as an Assistant Category Manager. You will join the Indirect Category Management Travel team, where you will play an instrumental role in procuring a range of travel categories spanning across Global Hotels, Meetings & Events, Car Hire & Travel Management Company to name a few.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Map and evaluate travel data on current spend patterns and identifying cost drivers and opportunities across categories.
  2. Create and optimize dashboards for internal stakeholders and Maersk leadership on travel spend.
  3. Assist strategic decision-making through data analysis and daily feedback from stakeholders.
  4. Assist with and single-handedly execute various tenders and projects.
  5. Servicing internal stakeholders on various operational ad-hoc requests related to travel activities.
  6. Assist the global Category Managers with their categories i.e. Airlines, Hotel, Meetings & Events and Travel Agencies.

You will have significant responsibility from the start and are expected to execute and deliver on time and with a great sense of detail.

Required qualifications, experience & skills:
  1. A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (Master degree or similar is preferred).
  2. Ability to generate innovative insights from analysis; develop and implement new methodologies and evaluation to drive actionable results, with a sharp eye for details.
  3. Excellent written, oral, and formal communication skills.
  4. Ability to manage multiple projects, adjust priorities as needed and meet deadlines.
  5. Ability to influence and communicate across the organization at multiple levels.
  6. Mastering Excel based review and able to transform conclusions into sharp key messages.
  7. Comfortable working with PowerPoint and PowerBI and interested in being able to develop and deliver clear written messages.
  8. Strong professional interest in the Travel Industry. Experience from a job in the airline/hotel industry or Travel Management Company is an advantage.
  9. Entrepreneurial in spirit and adaptable in a continuously changing environment.
  10. International mind-set supported by high level of proficiency and confidence in spoken and written English.
  11. Service minded and comfortable communicating with many different cultures and all levels of the organisation.
  12. Interested in developing your skills within Procurement and taking the first step to a potential career within Maersk Procurement.
