Postdoctoral Researcher in Materials Chemistry and X-ray Scattering

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Copenhagen invites applications for one or more postdoctoral positions within materials chemistry focusing on X-ray scattering methods. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of novel materials and understanding of their atomic structure.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct research in materials chemistry and X-ray scattering methods, including ultrafast X-ray scattering at synchrotron and XFEL sources.
- Develop and synthesize novel materials, including disordered oxide nanomaterials and high entropy materials for electrocatalysis.
- Characterize the properties of these materials using X-ray total scattering and X-ray spectroscopy.
- Collaborate with the research group and contribute to the development of new research projects.
Requirements:
- PhD degree in experimental chemistry, nanoscience, physics, or a related field.
- Experience in material synthesis, X-ray scattering, and spectroscopy.
- Strong background in data analysis and interpretation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Environment:
The position is based at the Department of Chemistry, University of Copenhagen, and will be part of the Nanostructure group led by Associate Professor Kirsten M. Ø. Jensen.
The successful candidate will be employed as a postdoctoral researcher for a period of 18-24 months, commencing on 1 December 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.
