Postdoctoral Researcher in Materials Chemistry and X-ray Scattering

Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark Københavns Universitet (KU) Full time
Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Department of Chemistry, University of Copenhagen. The successful candidate will work on two exciting projects in materials chemistry with a strong focus on X-ray scattering methods for characterization of atomic structure and understanding material synthesis pathways.

Project 1: Ultrafast X-ray Scattering

The first project will involve the use of ultrafast X-ray scattering at synchrotron and XFEL sources to study atomic scale structural changes during chemical synthesis of nanoparticles. The postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, and publishing results in top-tier scientific journals.

Project 2: Size/Structure Relations and Formation Mechanisms

The second project will focus on the use of synchrotron techniques, including X-ray total scattering and X-ray spectroscopy, to elucidate the formation pathways for disordered oxide nanomaterials and high entropy materials for electrocatalysis. The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with the group leader and other team members to design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and publish results.

Requirements
  • PhD degree in experimental chemistry, nanoscience, physics, or a similar field
  • Extensive experience in synchrotron, neutron, or XFEL experiments
  • Experience in advanced modeling of scattering or spectroscopy data
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
What We Offer
  • A dynamic and international research environment
  • Opportunities for professional development and growth
  • A competitive salary and benefits package

We welcome applications from candidates who are passionate about materials chemistry and X-ray scattering. If you are a motivated and experienced researcher looking for a new challenge, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
