Postdoc in Synaptic Imaging at Neuroscience Institute
6 days ago
We are seeking a highly motivated researcher to join our team as a postdoctoral fellow for a two-year position. The project focuses on studying cellular models of neurodevelopmental delay and epilepsy using live cell imaging of neuronal activity.
The goal is to identify consequences of disease mutations on the circuit level using imaging methods, which will aid in drug discovery. Our research group investigates the mechanism of neurotransmitter release in chemical synapses and the molecular basis for neurodevelopmental diseases and epilepsy.
We employ an interdisciplinary approach combining human induced pluripotent stem cell (hIPSC)-derived neurons or mouse neurons with microscopy, electrophysiology, and omics methods. Our team is international and collaborative, working closely with clinicians and patient groups.
To achieve this goal, you will use live cell microscopy of in vitro neuronal populations with fluorescent reporters, perform image analysis, and identify imaging parameters that are changed by mutation.
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in synaptic imaging and neuroscience. As a successful candidate, you will have a PhD or equivalent degree in natural or medical science, excellent scientific track record, and experience with cell culture methods and fluorescence microscopy.
Apart from salary, the position comes with access to modern laboratories within the Mærsk Tower, opportunities for professional growth, and a dynamic work environment. We promote diversity and inclusion and encourage applications from qualified candidates worldwide.
