Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark Københavns Universitet Full time
Job Description

The Københavns Universitet invites applications for a postdoctoral position as part of the VILLUM-funded project AVOCA. We are seeking a highly skilled researcher with experience in multi- and hyperspectral remote sensing and image analysis.

About the Project

AVOCA is a multidisciplinary project focusing on quantifying biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs) in Arctic tundra. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and application of new remote sensing techniques using data from unmanned aerial systems (UAS), satellite data, and field work.

Your Profile

We are looking for a candidate with experience and interest in technical and applied aspects of multi- and hyperspectral remote sensing and image analysis. Prior experience with operating UAS is not necessary. You will be responsible for a project work package in collaboration with the project PI, which includes method development and applied work in image/point cloud classification of plant species/diversity, and assessments of photosynthesis and BVOC emissions using hyperspectral imaging.

Responsibilities

The postdoc's duties will include research within geosciences and/or computer vision. You will have the opportunity to work independently and collaborate with other researchers in the project.

Requirements
  • A PhD-degree in computer science, computer vision, geosciences, or similar topics
  • Prior experience with scripting languages and excellent communication skills in English
What We Offer

The position is full-time and covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff. Negotiation for salary supplement is possible. The estimated salary is between 49,625 and 64,976 DKK per month, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
