About the Job
The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) seeks a highly skilled and motivated individual to join their team as a Senior Radar Application Developer. This exciting opportunity is for a researcher-developer position within weather radar-based precipitation applications, where you will be working closely with the existing staff members of the radar research team at DMI.

About the Role
As a Senior Radar Application Developer, your primary responsibilities will include developing and maintaining advanced weather forecasting models using state-of-the-art radar data. You will work collaboratively with the IT department to ensure seamless integration of these models into the operational forecast system. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of new radar products and services, including 24/7 operational radar products such as precipitation forecasts.

About the Team
The Weather Research Department at DMI employs a staff of approximately 70 scientists and developers, working closely with other research departments internally and externally. Our team has a strong international profile, reflecting the many nationalities and an English working language. Requirements
We are looking for a highly skilled professional with a strong background in geophysical processes, radar remote sensing technologies, and IT development. A Master's or Ph.D. degree in a relevant field is required. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, and UNIX shell scripting is essential. Experience with machine learning, high-performance computing, and data processing is an advantage. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are necessary for this role. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial for success in this position.

What We Offer
DMI offers a competitive salary, ranging from €60,000 to €80,000 per year, depending on experience. We provide a flexible working week of 37 hours, including a paid lunch break, and six weeks of paid vacation annually.
