About Københavns Universitet

Københavns Universitet is a world-leading research university with a strong focus on innovation and collaboration. Our researchers are working to understand the complex mechanisms that govern life, from the molecular processes within cells to the intricate systems of ecosystems.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Stem Cell Medicine (reNEW). As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be responsible for exploring enhancer networks in early human development and human organ-specific differentiation using stem cell-based three-dimensional culture models.

About the Position

The position is available immediately, and we encourage applications from individuals with a strong background in developmental biology, molecular biology, or bioinformatics. You will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment, collaborating with experts in stem cell biology, computational modeling, and experimental techniques.

Responsibilities
  • Design and execute experiments to investigate enhancer networks in early human development and human organ-specific differentiation
  • Analyze data generated from high-throughput sequencing technologies, such as ChIP-seq, CUT&TAG, and CAGE-seq
  • Develop new approaches to in vitro culture and improve existing protocols for stem cell maintenance and differentiation
  • Collaborate with the Brickman group to develop and apply new computational tools for analyzing enhancer network dynamics
About the Team

The Brickman group is an international and interdisciplinary team of scientists focusing on understanding the transcriptional basis for development and exploiting this to develop new technologies for cell type specification in culture. We employ both mouse and human model systems in vitro and in vivo, where the advertised positions will focus on the use of three-dimensional synthetic models for human development.

Requirements
  • PhD degree in Developmental Biology, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or related field
  • Experience with cell culture, including stem cell culture and maintenance
  • Experience with next-generation sequencing technologies and analysis software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to design and execute experiments
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with ability to collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position starts at approximately €47,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, you will receive comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, pension plan, and access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources.
