Materials Scientist for AM-Defect Tolerance

We are seeking a talented Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU) and contribute to the development of a theoretical framework for designing defect-tolerant microstructures in additive manufactured metals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials science, engineering, or a related field, with expertise in additive manufacturing, powder metallurgy, microstructural characterization, and mechanical testing. They will work closely with senior scientists, technicians, and postdocs to develop a comprehensive understanding of the relationships between material processing parameters, microstructure, and resulting properties.
The research will focus on developing a theoretical framework that incorporates the effects of as-built microstructure, multi-scale voids, and local residual stresses on the mechanical behavior of additively manufactured metallic samples. This framework will provide a fundamental understanding of how to design defect-tolerant microstructures that can withstand various service loads.
