The appointment is for 2 years, with the possibility of extension. You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative research environment, working alongside Prof. Riikka Rinnan and an international team of researchers.

Job Description

We are seeking a talented postdoctoral researcher to investigate the interactions between marine bacterioplankton and phytoplankton, focusing on the production and emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The successful candidate will lead field and experimental work, including cultivation and molecular analyses of bacterial and phytoplankton community composition, plankton activity measurements, and VOC measurements using GC-MS or PTR-MS techniques.

Requirements

  • PhD in marine microbial ecology or a related field
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Excellent writing skills demonstrated by a strong publication record
  • Good analytical skills in molecular community analyses, aquatic microbial ecology, and cultivation of bacteria and phytoplankton
  • Experience with VOC measurements and multivariate statistics is an asset

What We Offer

The position includes a competitive salary, approximately DKK 445,000 - DKK 566,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
