Marine Microbiologist Position: Volatile Interactions and Ecology

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Department of Biology. The successful candidate will contribute to our research on marine volatile interactions and ecology.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe postdoc will be responsible for investigating fluxes of volatiles associated with marine bacterioplankton and phytoplankton, focusing on the importance of these interactions for VOC production/emission. The work will encompass field and experimental studies, as well as cultivation using molecular analyses of bacterial and phytoplankton community composition, plankton activity measurements, and VOC measurements.
Requirements- PhD in marine microbial ecology or a related field
- Excellent analytical skills in molecular community analyses (bioinformatics), aquatic microbial ecology, and cultivation of bacteria and phytoplankton
- Experience with VOC measurements using GC-MS or PTR-MS techniques and multivariate statistics is an asset
We offer a competitive salary, starting from approximately 56,600 DKK (~ 7,500 EUR) per month, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, you will have access to state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and instrumentation, as well as opportunities for professional development and collaboration with international researchers.
SalaryThe estimated monthly salary is 56,600 DKK (~ 7,500 EUR), based on a 37-hour workweek and Danish Collective Bargaining Agreement for Academic Staff.
