Postdoctoral Researcher in Marine Mammal Science

The Department of Ecoscience at Aarhus University is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to contribute to our understanding of the dynamics of toothed whale contaminant loads in relation to environmental variability. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and internationally engaged scientific environment at the Section for Marine Mammal Research. Our team has gathered detailed data on the effects of contaminants on marine mammals over the last three decades, combining a variety of methods including various contaminant groups, histology, BMD measurements, stable isotopes, fatty acids surveys, climate change parameters, age and other relevant parameters. This position provides a unique opportunity to contribute to our research and develop your skills in a collaborative and stimulating environment.


Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate the dynamics of toothed whale contaminant loads in relation to environmental variability
- Contribute to the development of research projects and proposals
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and conduct research experiments
- Analyze and interpret data from research experiments
- Communicate research results through publications and presentations


Requirements:
- PhD degree in biology, environmental chemistry, chemistry, or a related field
- Experience with writing scientific publications
- Experience with analytical instruments and techniques
- Fluency in English (speaking and writing)
- Good communication skills, both written and oral
