SalaryWe offer a competitive salary range of 50,000 - 70,000 EUR per annum, depending on seniority and qualifications. This figure takes into account the cost of living in Denmark and provides a comfortable standard of living for our employees.
Job DescriptionAs an Assistant Professor in Barley New Genomic Techniques, you will be part of a research environment focusing on genomics and biotechnology in crops. Your primary responsibility will be to contribute to specifically the area of gene editing in different barley varieties, working experimentally in an already established laboratory environment for CRISPR/Cas editing in crop plants. Your project aims to generate climate change resilient barley, genetically equipped to optimize root-microbiome interactions and drought resistance.
Required Skills and Qualifications- You must hold a PhD in plant molecular biology, biotechnology or similar.
- Collaborative skills and ability to participate actively in teams are essential.
- A genuine interest in molecular improvement of crops for a climate changed future is necessary.
- You should have documented experience in scientific writing and publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Teaching and supervision experience at BSc, MSc and PhD level is required.
- Experience in contributing with writing research proposals for external funding is beneficial.
- Research experience in some of the areas of CRISPR/Cas technology, gene cloning, gene vector building and transformation of cereals is preferred.
- Networking experience is also desirable.
