Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated veterinary microbiologist to join our team as a postdoctoral researcher. The successful candidate will contribute to the scientific and teaching activities of the One Health Antimicrobial Resistance (OHAR) research group within the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in antimicrobial resistance and develop diagnostic tests and methods to reduce and rationalize antimicrobial use in animals.
  • Optimize veterinary antimicrobial use to minimize selection and spread of antimicrobial resistance.
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must have a PhD in Microbiology or a related field and previous postdoctoral experience. You should also have outstanding publication records and excellent scientific writing and oral communication skills. Experience in supervising PhD, MSc, and BSc students is essential.

Desirable Skills
  • Research experience in antimicrobial resistance.
  • Experience in metagenomics.
  • Research experience in veterinary mycology.
  • Experience in veterinary clinical practice.
What We Offer

The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week. The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 2 years with the potential for contract extension based on performance and project needs. Salary starts at approximately €51,680 per year, plus pension and other benefits.
