Job Description

The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Københavns Universitet invites applications for a professorship in Veterinary Clinical Pathology. The position is open to candidates with a strong background in veterinary clinical pathology, research, and teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and teach in the area of veterinary clinical pathology, focusing on biomarkers, haemostasis, cancer, and clinical biochemistry.
  • Lead the University of Copenhagen Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and collaborate with other faculty and staff members.
  • Develop and implement research-based teaching programs at the Master of Companion Animal Clinical Sciences level.
  • Participate in examinations, assessments, and evaluations of students at various levels.
  • Communicate research results to the public and engage in knowledge exchange with society.
  • Lead a research group, raise external funding, and participate in national and international scientific networking.

Requirements:

  • A DVM degree and a Danish authorization to practice veterinary medicine or equivalent qualifications.
  • A postgraduate degree (PhD or equivalent) in a relevant field, such as veterinary clinical pathology or a related area.
  • Board eligibility or diplomate status within ECVCP/ACVCP or ECVIM/ACVIM.
  • Strong laboratory management, leadership, and administrative skills, as well as experience in research networks and knowledge transfer.

Applications must be submitted in English, including a motivation for applying, a curriculum vitae, diplomas, a list of publications, a research plan, and teaching plans. The Dean appoints an expert assessment committee to evaluate the applications and select the successful candidate.
