Veterinary Microbiologist for Antimicrobial Resistance Position

SalaryThe estimated monthly salary starts at approximately 5,168 EUR, with an additional 17.1% paid into your pension fund. Tax reductions may be applicable for foreign applicants with a PhD degree and limited residency in Denmark.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly qualified veterinary microbiologist to join our team as a postdoctoral researcher within the One Health Antimicrobial Resistance (OHAR) group. As part of this position, you will contribute to the scientific and teaching activities of the group, focusing on antimicrobial resistance and infection prevention and control in veterinary medicine, livestock production, and environmental settings.
You will be responsible for overseeing experiments conducted by students, delivering lectures for the Infection Microbiology and Veterinary Paraclinics courses, and applying for funding to support research projects aligned with the OHAR group's focus areas.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you should have:
- A MSc degree in Veterinary Medicine
- A PhD in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field
- Previous postdoctoral experience
- An outstanding publication record relative to your career stage
- Excellent scientific writing and oral communication skills
- Experience in supervising PhD, MSc, and BSc students
- Knowledge of basic concepts in antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention and control
This position offers a dynamic and international research environment, with modern laboratories fully equipped to perform traditional and molecular microbiology, including omics. You will also have opportunities to collaborate with experienced researchers and contribute to high-impact publications.
OthersThis is a fixed-term position limited to 2 years with the potential for contract extension based on performance and project needs. The starting date is around December 1st, 2024.
