Unlock the Potential of Microglassification

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join our team as a PhD fellow in microglassification of pharmaceutical proteins at the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen.

About the Project

This interdisciplinary project involves the design and investigation of novel methods for preparing dried protein particles with desired properties. Using microfluidics, we will explore the various factors that govern particle characteristics, such as size and protein structural integrity. The ultimate goal is to develop a rational design approach for these particles, enabling their use in injectable suspensions, pulmonary delivery, or solid dosage formulations.

Job Description
  • Carry out an independent research project under supervision
  • Complete PhD courses or other equivalent education corresponding to approximately 30 ECTS points
  • Participate in active research environments, including a stay at another research team, preferably abroad
  • Gain experience with teaching or other types of dissemination related to your PhD project
  • Teach undergraduate students in pharmaceutical sciences
Requirements and Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, applicants must have qualifications corresponding to a master's degree related to the subject area of the project. Other important criteria include professional qualifications relevant to the PhD project, grade point average achieved, and other professional activities. A curious mindset with a strong interest in protein biophysics and pharmaceutical technology is also essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Beyond the requirements listed above, we are looking for a highly self-motivated individual with experience in and/or knowledge of drug delivery of biopharmaceuticals, protein structural analysis, microfluidics, and/or physical chemistry. The candidate must be able to work independently but will interact with a multidisciplinary project group involved in many aspects of studying and evaluating protein drug delivery.

Employment and Benefits

The employment is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 3 years. The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week. Salary, pension, and terms of employment are in accordance with the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.
