Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Lead Water Supply Engineer to join our team at DTU Sustain, Department of Environmental and Resource Engineering. The successful candidate will lead research and teaching activities focused on water supply systems, sustainability, and environmental science.
ResponsibilitiesThe key responsibilities of this position include:
- Teaching and supervising students in the field of water supply engineering and environmental science.
- Conducting research on sustainable water management, including drinking water distribution, water re-use, and alternative water sources.
- Developing new approaches and modeling tools for water supply systems, focusing on hydraulics, biological, and chemical water quality.
- Collaborating with colleagues to build up, develop, and contribute to research projects and funding acquisition.
- Maintaining strong industry connections, interacting with academia, public authorities, consultants, and industrial partners.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A PhD degree in a relevant field, such as environmental engineering, quantitative hydrology, civil engineering, or hydraulics.
- Experience in teaching and research, with a strong publication record.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis and spatial data analysis (GIS).
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
This is a full-time position, based at DTU's campus in Lyngby, Denmark. You will be expected to maintain high standards of productivity, collaboration, and innovation within your team and across the department.
