BioLegend, part of Revvity, is a world-renowned developer of cutting-edge antibodies and reagents for biomedical research.
We are seeking an experienced Technical Application Specialist to join our team in the Nordics. The successful candidate will be responsible for building relationships with scientists within their defined territory, providing technical support, and contributing to local business development.
About the Role
The Technical Application Specialist will be the primary point of contact for technology, products, and services in the Nordics. They will represent BioLegend locally, providing technical support, facilitating scientific collaboration, and conducting field marketing initiatives through seminars and presentations.
This role requires frequent local travel and involves supporting regional Academic research institutions and Biotech/Pharma companies in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers at assigned focus accounts, both in person and remotely.
- Conduct Seminars: Present technical seminars to labs, user groups, and local meetings to educate customers on relevant new technologies.
- Product Demonstrations: Coordinate and perform product demonstrations, trainings, and technical support to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Sales Support: Provide direct sales support to customers in collaboration with the team leader and Global Sales Operations team.
- Business Development: Contribute to local business development related to product development, licensing, service/collaborative agreements, and other responsibilities as needed.
- Represent BioLegend: Represent the company at user group meetings, scientific conferences, and local shows to showcase our products and expertise.
- Contact Database: Maintain a contact database in the customer retention management system (Salesforce) to track customer interactions and preferences.
- Expense Management: Manage expenses through monthly reports to ensure accurate financial tracking.
- Quarterly Reports: Prepare quarterly reports on territory performance and notable business developments at key accounts to inform strategic decision-making.
- Competitor Intelligence: Report any activity related to competitor activities or business opportunities that may impact the company's success.
- Self-Development: Communicate needs for self-development and develop long-term professional goals to ensure personal and career growth.
- Travel Requirements: Travel requirements include some overnight travel for international events/training at HQ and frequent travel across the Nordic countries.
Requirements
- Candidate must have the legal right to live and work in the EU.
- PhD in Life Sciences or related specialty such as biotechnology or MSc in biology or related specialty with 3+ years' experience in an academic, industry, or clinical lab setting.
- Direct experience with multi-parameter flow cytometry.
- Experience with cellular assays (in-vitro, or primary cell).
- Molecular biology wet lab experience (Western, PCR, ELISA, ELISpot, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Conventional and Spectral flow cytometry preferred.
- Experience in proteogenomics/NGS.
- Research experience (academic &/or industry) in Cell Biology, Immunology, or Cancer Biology.
- Driving License.
Skills and Abilities
- Customer-focused individual with the empathy and skills to understand and address customer concerns.
- Capable of using MS Outlook or Salesforce to stay organized and meet deadlines set.
- A 'can do' attitude and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including fluency in English and minimum one Scandinavian language.
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to balance several projects and customers concurrently.
Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary of approximately €80,000 - €100,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits package including health insurance, pension plan, and paid time off.
