Public Health Emergency Response Manager

The World Health Organization (WHO) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Health Emergency Response Manager to join its team in the European region.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to work with WHO, a global leader in public health, to respond to emergencies and improve health outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing emergency operations, including developing and implementing operational procedures and structures for responding to emergencies.
You will work closely with WHO staff, Member States, and other stakeholders to build and maintain capabilities, provide technical advice, and contribute to the development of networks of public health emergency operations centers in countries.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the operation of the EURO SHOC, including developing and implementing operational procedures and structures for responding to emergencies.
- Build and maintain capabilities, including managing assigned staff, EOC systems, critical infrastructure, and implementing new staff support tools.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of operational procedures and structures for efficient management of response to health emergencies.
- Oversee orientation and training tools for EURO SHOC and IMST personnel.
- Develop a network of public health emergency operations centers in countries, including their establishment and operation.
- Play a key role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of simulation exercises.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A master's degree or above in emergency management, public administration, health, information management, computer sciences, or a related field.
- At least seven years of relevant experience in supporting emergency operations involving public health emergency planning and management systems.
- Familiarity with WHO ERF and IMS functions, including the role of the EOC/SHOC.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in operational support responses to epidemics and other public health emergencies.
