Technical Sales Manager Role

Based at the AKV Sales & Application Center in Aarhus, this competitive opportunity offers a base salary and benefits package.

About the Job

This is an exciting role for a customer-oriented individual with a strong background in food science or a related field. As a Technical Sales Manager, you will be responsible for providing technical service and advice to customers worldwide about modified and functional clean label potato starches.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing technical customer projects from start to finish
  • Developing project portfolios with customers within your area of responsibility
  • Identifying and presenting optimal technical solutions to selected projects
  • Concluding tests and trials, and presenting results to customers
  • Maintaining contact with customers' technical key personnel, including follow-up on projects and activities agreed with the customer
  • Training and educating customers and agents/distributors

You will work closely with Commercial Managers to develop ambitious business plans for areas and project pipelines. This requires prioritizing among customer projects based on business potential and technical feasibility in accordance with product and market strategies.

The role involves extensive travel to customers in your region, with an estimated 60-70 annual travel days.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree-level education in food science or a related field
  • Experience working in technical sales, product development, or application development in the food industry
  • A wide knowledge of food processing and industrial food manufacturing, as well as general knowledge of the food ingredients business area
  • The ability to combine technical know-how with business acumen, and experience in developing and managing customer projects
  • Innovative, entrepreneurial, and committed approach to customer projects, with a focus on creating win-win relationships
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in English, with the ability to adjust to different cultural settings and cross-organizational collaborations

You should also possess a structured approach to your work, with an understanding of the importance of developing and documenting knowledge to optimize sharing and continuous improvement.
