Technical Sales Manager - Food Ingredients

Foodjob Nordic is seeking a highly motivated customer-oriented candidate to join the Global Sales & Application team in Agro Food Park, Aarhus, in the role of Technical Sales Manager.

As a member of the technical sales team, you will provide technical service and advice about modified and functional clean label potato starches to customers worldwide, collaborating closely with the Application team in the AKV FoodLab.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Driving technical customer projects to successful completion.
  • Developing the project portfolio with customers within your area of responsibility.
  • Identifying and presenting the most optimal technical solution to selected projects.
  • Concluding on tests and trials and presenting results to customers.
  • Maintaining contact with customers' technical key personnel and providing technical follow-up on projects and activities.
  • Training and educating customers and agents/distributors.

You will work closely with Commercial Managers to create and maintain ambitious business plans for your areas and project pipelines. Prioritization among customer projects will be based on business potential and technical feasibility, in line with product- and market strategies. Travel to customers in your region is expected, with approximately 60-70 annual travel days.

Requirements include a degree-level theoretical background in food science or similar, along with a track record in technical sales, product development, or application development from the food industry.

  • You possess a wide knowledge within food processing and industrial food manufacturing, with at least a general knowledge within the food ingredients business area.
  • You combine technical know-how with a well-developed business acumen and experience in development and management of customer projects.
  • You are an innovative, entrepreneurial, and committed person who naturally takes lead of customer projects and secures subsequent business.
  • You have a value-focused and trustworthy approach to customers, focusing on creating win-win relations.
  • Your communication skills are at a high level in English, and you can adjust to different cultural settings and cross-organizational collaborations.

You will approach your work with a structured approach, understanding the necessity to develop and document in a systematic way, optimizing the sharing of knowledge and ensuring continuous improvement.
