Job Description

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in proteomics, genomics, or related fields who can conduct independent and creative research. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on various projects, including understanding the scope and function of lysine acetylation in gene regulation, as well as deciphering mechanisms of gene activation by cis-regulatory enhancers.

Our group uses diverse cell models, including embryonic stem cells and their differentiated derivatives. We also extensively collaborate with top-level international researchers, routinely publish in top-ranked journals, and have an outstanding track record in training the next generation of researchers.

The ideal candidate will have excellent scientific productivity, evidenced by high-quality research publications, and be able to communicate complex ideas effectively. They will also possess good interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively within a team.

We offer a stimulating and supportive environment, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources. The position is funded by a newly funded ERC advanced grant (Oct 2024- Sept. 2029), with additional funding from Novo Nordisk Foundation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent and creative research in the field of proteomics and genomics
  • Design and perform experiments using various techniques, including quantitative proteomics, next-generation nucleic acid sequencing, and CRISPR-based genome editing
  • Collect and analyze data, including generating datasets for ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, and quantitative mass spectrometry
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Communicate complex ideas effectively through written and verbal reports
Requirements
  • PhD/MD level of education corresponding to the Danish PhD degree in natural or medical science
  • Excellent scientific track record, including at least one publication in a high-quality, peer-reviewed international journal
  • Expert knowledge in one or more of the following areas: epigenetics, gene transcription regulation, quantitative mass spectrometry, bioinformatics, computer programming languages (R, Python)
  • Strong background in molecular biology techniques, including proficient use of CRISPR-based genome editing
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
What We Offer
  • A competitive salary and benefits package
  • An exciting and challenging work environment
  • Opportunities for professional development and growth
  • Access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources
