PhD Scholarship in AI-Powered Education

We are seeking a highly motivated PhD scholar to join our team at Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU) and contribute to the development of innovative AI-powered tools for engineering education. This PhD project will focus on designing and validating Generative AI-based systems that provide immediate, relevant information and feedback to students' work during formative courses.
In this role, you will work closely with your supervisors, experts, course responsible, instructors, and students to clarify how Generative AI can be used to facilitate the learning process. You will analyze, select, and design tools and methods that can do so, implement such systems, and test their feasibility in ongoing courses. Additionally, you will validate and estimate their effect on students' learning and motivation.
The ideal candidate will have a background in a related engineering field, working knowledge of Generative AI tools, experience with User-Centered methods, and interest in learning, didactics, and pedagogics. A 3-6 month exchange stay at a recognized research group in Europe, USA, or Australia is also expected as part of the PhD project.
This PhD scholarship is open to candidates who have a two-year master's degree or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master's degree. The scholarship includes a competitive salary of approximately $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
