Job Overview

Nativemaps seeks an experienced and skilled Executive Secretary to join our team in the Arctic region. As the lead administrator of the Secretariat, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our organization.

Estimated Salary:

$80,000 - $100,000 per year

About the Role

We are looking for a highly qualified individual with extensive experience in international cooperation and diplomacy. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in management and public administration, as well as excellent communication skills.

The Executive Secretary will be responsible for facilitating meetings and dialogue among Indigenous Peoples, assisting them in making contributions to AC processes, and ensuring timely distribution of AC documentation. This is a two-year contract position dependent on funding availability.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Foster effective relationships with Arctic Indigenous Peoples and governments
  2. Manage the day-to-day operations of the Secretariat
  3. Develop and implement strategies to promote Indigenous participation in AC processes
  4. Maintain accurate records and reports
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A master's degree in social or natural sciences, international or environmental law and politics, or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Extensive experience in international cooperation and diplomacy
  • Proven track record in management and public administration
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of financial administration and budgeting
