About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Engineer to join our team at COMSOL A/S. As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for promoting the use of our simulation software to engineers, scientists, and academicians in various industries.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Execute end-to-end sales, from opportunity generation to closure, including pre-sales and post-sales operations.
  2. Account penetration and mapping, prospecting for new business opportunities, and developing relationships within key and strategic accounts.
  3. Understanding customer requirements, purchase processes, and offering optimum COMSOL techno-commercial solutions.
Pre-Sales Leads Qualification and Prospect Support

You will use your insight, communication skills, and technical acumen to proactively interact with prospective and current customers. This includes:

  1. Methodically identifying and qualifying simulation requirements for prospective customers through communications and demonstrations.
  2. Arranging and participating in onsite and web-based customer meetings, workshops, and marketing and sales events.
  3. Articulating business cases for the unique qualities of COMSOL, explaining licensing models, and helping negotiate terms and conditions with legal and procurement departments.
  4. Supporting prospective customers on evaluations of the COMSOL software or facilitating such evaluations through collaboration with COMSOL applications engineers.
Post-Sales Support and Customer Relations Management

You will promote effective technical support together with COMSOL applications engineers on the use of the COMSOL software for customers' applications. This includes:

  1. Communicating with existing customers on a regular basis to manage their relationship with COMSOL and keep them updated on new features and technology in the COMSOL software, as well as events and other useful activities.
  2. Finding new opportunities to sell existing and new COMSOL software and technology to existing customers or their colleagues as well as other departments within your customers' organizations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, physics, applied mathematics, or a physical science, with a preference for engineering degrees in mechanical, electrical, or chemical.
  2. Coursework based on computational analyses, modeling, and simulations through numerical methods, such as the Finite Element Method (FEM/FEA), to be used in applications, such as fluid mechanics or dynamics, transport phenomena, heat and mass transfer, thermal engineering, thermodynamics, structural mechanics or analysis, acoustics, chemical or electrochemical reaction engineering, applied physics or mathematics, or any application that may be mathematically defined by PDE or ODEs.
  3. Prior sales experience for a minimum of one year, with sales experience in engineering software solutions (CAD/CAE) being preferred.
  4. Excellent communication skills on the phone, in person, and in writing.
