Postdoctoral Researcher in Arctic Marine Microbiology

**Job Overview**
The Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join its interdisciplinary research group focused on past climate and ecosystem changes in the marine Arctic.
The successful candidate will investigate the microbiomes of the deep biosphere in Arctic marine sediments, exploring the impacts of past climate oscillations on microbial diversity and composition. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct molecular genetic lab work, including DNA and RNA extractions and metagenomic shotgun/transcriptome sequencing.
- Analyze high-throughput sequencing data, focusing on environmental DNA, metagenomics, or transcriptomics.
- Collaborate with the research team to develop and implement bioinformatic and statistical analyses of data.
Requirements:
- PhD degree in Biology, Microbiology, Geosciences, Environmental Sciences, or related disciplines.
- Experience in processing and analyzing high-throughput sequencing data.
- Familiarity with marine ecosystems, the deep biosphere, or marine microbiomes and necessary bioinformatic and statistical analyses.
