Lead Environmental Sustainability Expert

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Environmental Sustainability Expert to join our team at Novo Nordisk in Odense, Denmark. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the implementation of our Circular for Zero Strategy, ensuring alignment with sustainability goals, and overseeing health, safety, and environmental programs and initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

The position is based in Odense, Denmark, and requires a strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations, standards, and best practices. As a leader, you will influence the organizational setup and culture while having many opportunities to develop and grow your skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the EHS team, providing guidance, training, and support for optimal performance.
  • Drive execution of the Circular for Zero Strategy, ensuring alignment with sustainability goals.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations, including fire and construction safety standards.
  • Utilize business intelligence tools for data transparency and effective performance management, identifying improvement opportunities and coordinating with project teams.
  • Engage in global EHS network groups to learn, share insights, and contribute expertise across sites.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years' experience managing health, construction, fire, process safety, physical security, and business resilience projects with Subject Matter Experts.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with a focus on motivating and developing team members.
  • In-depth understanding of Health and Safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Danish and English, with strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building abilities to support collaborative health and safety initiatives.
