Your role in our team
As our new Business Development Director, you will execute our Self-Protection Systems efforts to conceive, develop, pursue, and capture programs in the application areas of aircraft self-protection and airborne 3D audio systems. You will work as a key part of a global team to identify, qualify, and position for new and existing business. Moreover, you will lead major opportunities, manage customer relationships, and participate in identifying solution concepts for both standard sales opportunities as well as bespoke complex project sales.
Travel activity (15-20% or more) must be expected e.g. to customer locations to develop a broad customer base for the Self-Protection Systems business unit.
How you will make a meaningful contribution
Your key responsibilities include:
- Leading business development, key account management, and win strategy activities; accountable for meeting defined individual and organizational sales and revenue objectives.
- Establishing and maintaining strategically important key account relationships.
- Developing campaign capture plan objectives, strategies, and tactics in conjunction with quantifying and qualifying opportunities.
- Interfacing directly with customer decision-makers to shape market opportunities and optimize business opportunities for new/existing products, technologies, and services.
- Working closely with end-users and customers to align and shape the technical, programmatic, and budget requirements required for program definition.
- Collaborating with the global business development team, Advanced Design, and Engineering teams to develop and successfully market targeted, specific customer solutions.
- Developing a strong understanding of customers' business operations and goals to perform new business development activities with existing and new customers.
Bring your world-class expertise into play
You are fluent in English both in writing and verbally at a professional level. Danish is an advantage but not a requirement.
- There are multiple routes to successful employment as Business Development Director, and educational background is important but previous experience is equally valuable, with a proven track record. Typical interesting educational/experience background elements could be:
- Technical education at Bachelor or Master level.
- Commercial education at Bachelor or Master level.
- Air Force/Defense operational experience (e.g., airborne).
- Electronic warfare experience.
- You have experience in developing business opportunities and conducting marketing campaigns with customer communities.
- You have demonstrated experience in the following business disciplines: strategic planning, competitive assessment, development and implementation of strategic and operational plans, business acquisition processes, and proposal writing/management of the proposal process.
- Your technical knowledge must be sufficient to develop and provide customer briefings on our Self-Protection Systems products in the context of aircraft self-protection and aircraft avionics integration.
